Mansfield Road cycleway works from mid-June to the end of September

Works on a new 2-way cycleway on Mansfield Road, from the corner of Goose Fair roundabout to Pelham Avenue began this summer and are now complete!

What did we do?

We added 170m of protected 2-way cycleway on Mansfield Road, running from the Goose Fair roundabout to Pelham Avenue, with an improved footway will running alongside this cycleway.

Why are we doing this?

We are constructing this 170m of cycleway because the land has become available to Nottingham City Council as part of the new school development adjacent. This scheme will connect those travelling actively particularly well to Hucknall Road, and will support student and staff from the new Bluecoat Trent Academy to travel actively to and from school. Thanks to the Department for Education who have provided some land we have we have an opportunity to deliver a section of cycle route that will form part of the wider strategic network. We will continue to work on plans to develop connections to the north on Mansfield Road and Hucknall Road as well as along Gregory Boulevard.

This project is funded through the Transforming Cities fund – find out more about it here.
